The Trees of Cawarkoj

Lyuntaaz

On the sixth evening of Lyuntaaz, we remember the time when our ancestors rebelled against the slavemasters, escaping into the trees of Cawarkoj, where they hid in the branches for one week before the Todroc recaptured them.

The cohage is lit this night, but no additional lights are added.

The following prayer is read while hanging upside down:

Moacibi puguqeoco chik, Ponai, bisa kuselo'h rua brifoqipi con tarru kai giksozo'h ruhd eyap de citboi. Andere.

Praise be to you, O Ponai, who made your hatchlings with tarru and preserved us this night from danger. Andere.

A meal of sweet nizburcu is eaten in haste from borpalt while hanging upside down by tarru in honor of the first escape. Slave isepgos are not worn, to symbolize when our ancestors threw them aside in their escape.
